Google Seach: How To Use Google’s Text To Speech

Yes, Google can read to you using several methods across devices

. On Android, you can say “Hey Google, read this page” while in Chrome, or use the “Listen to this page” option. On desktop Chrome, you can use the “Read Aloud” extension, and on Chromebooks, the “Select-to-speak” accessibility feature allows you to highlight text to be read.

 

Methods for Google to Read Aloud:
    • Android (Chrome/Google App): Open an article and say, “Hey Google, read this page” or “Hey Google, read it”.
    • Android (Accessibility): Turn on “Select-to-Speak” in settings to tap specific text or drag over an area to hear it.
    • Chrome Browser (Desktop):
       Install the “Read Aloud” extension from the
       to read web pages, PDFs, and Google Docs
      .
  • Chromebook: Use the “Select-to-speak” feature found under Accessibility settings to read highlighted text.
  • Google Assistant: Use voice commands like “Read [article name]” on smart speakers or phones
These features often include customizable options for voice type, reading speed, and text highlighting.
