Here is the link to EMCrit Wee – Webinar I Gave to Pulm/Crit Care Fellows on Avoiding Intubation and Initial Ventilation of COVID19 Patients by Dr. Scott Weingart, the founder of the EMCrit website. The webinar was recorded on 4/3/2020.
Everything in the outstanding post above needs to be carefully reviewed. Please visit the web page above as Dr. Weingart has included tons of other resources besides his outstanding webinar.
The whole EMCrit site is an incredible resource for all aspects of COVID-19 and also for all aspects of emergency care and critical care.
Although some of the details in Dr. Weingart’s webinar may change as our knowledge of COVID19 advances, much of his talk covers the fundamentals. And these are unlikely to change.
Therefore, I had a transcript made of Dr. Weingart’s webinar. I use an inexpensive transcription service and then go through the audio of the entire webinar as I correct my transcript. This seems to help me retain the information.
[Obviously, I’m not posting the transcript. I’m just suggesting that some learners might find getting an inexpensive autogenerated transcript and then correcting it might be helpful.]
Covid19 Diagnosis and Therapy is a rapidly moving target so we need to keep that fact in mind as we review the COVID19 resources.
The EmCrit site has two awesome resources that the authors are continuously updating:
-
- COVID-19 [Link is to the chapter] by Dr. Josh Farkas of the Internet Book of Critical Care [Link is to the IBCC TOC]
- COVID Airway Management Thoughts by Dr. Scott Weingart, founder of EMCrit.
- Dr. Weingart writes about this page: “This page will serve as the repository of COVID19 airway management thoughts and recommendations. Each time I post something new, it will exist as a separate post for a week and then be merged into this page.”
