Over the past weeks, I’ve been reviewing Dr. Scott Weingart’s outstanding podcasts on ACLS. This link is from my March 7 post Advanced Cardiac Life Support – Cardiac Arrest Management – Help From Dr. Weingart Of EMCrit # 125. There are links at the top of the post to four of Dr. Weingart’s podcasts on the subject.

And nothing in Advanced Cardiac Life Support will help if the patient has not received excellent immediate Basic Life Support.

Here are two great podcasts on the 2015 ACLS guidelines from Dr. Anton Helman’s site Emergency Medicine Cases:

Dr. Weingart emphasizes that there is never a reason during basic or advanced cardiac life support to suspend cardiac compression for endotracheal intubation. Intubation must be performed during ongoing cardiac compression. He recommends use of the bougie and use of video laryngoscopy. With that in mind, here are here is a link to some relevant videos:
