Why It Is Important That We all Work Together To Save Sibley Prairie

Today, I want to say why it is so very important that we all donate to Sibley Prarie.

As physicians, we know the benefits of nature as medicine. Time in natural environments improves physical and mental health by lowering heart rates, reducing depression, and supporting children’s cognitive, emotional, and moral development. For centuries, medical training included the study of native plants and their pharmacological properties. (Many of America’s pioneering botanists were doctors.) The nature deficit can be cured, starting with habitat conservation and access to recreation. Sibley Prairie is the last largest remnant of its kind on earth.
