Resources For Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

Today, I reviewed and link to some resources on Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

I started by reviewing PTSD: National Center for PTSD For Providers webpage. All that follows is from this resource.

For Providers

Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can occur after someone goes through a traumatic event like combat, assault, or disaster. This section contains training materials as well as information and tools to help you with assessment and treatment. These materials are based on the latest research, much of which is conducted by National Center staff.

  • Assessment
We provide information and the ability to download a variety of measures for assessing trauma and PTSD. These measures are intended for use by qualified mental health professionals and researchers. Measures are divided into two groups: those authored by National Center staff and those by other organizations. See individual pages for how to obtain the measure.
  • Trauma, PTSD and Treatment
The Trauma, PTSD and Treatment section provides information for providers on PTSD Essentials, Treatment Essentials, Types of Trauma, Specific Populations, Co-occurring Conditions, and Trauma Informed Care.
  • Continuing Education
We have a wide range of in-depth continuing education courses covering different aspects of PTSD assessment, treatment and related topics. Free continuing education credits are available for most courses on TMS for VA provider and TRAIN for non-VA providers. See each course for details and links.
  • Consultation Program
The PTSD Consultation Program supports VA providers and providers outside of the VA who are treating Veterans with PTSD.
  • Tech into Care
The Tech into Care section provides information for everyone interested in learning how to integrate technology into care for Veterans with the focus primarily on the suite of mobile mental health applications (apps) created by the National Center for PTSD.
  • Patient Education
We offer a wide variety of materials to help your patients understand what PTSD is and how it is treated, as well as tools for providers on how to engage patients in treatment and enhance the delivery of PTSD care.

Next, I reviewed PTSD: National Center for PTSD List of All Measures webpage.
