The following are guidelines for the management of atrial fibrillation:
Guidelines for the management of atrial fibrillation: The Task Force for the Management of Atrial Fibrillation of theEuropean Society of Cardiology (ESC) (pdf). Developed with the special contribution of the European Heart Rhythm Association(EHRA)†. Endorsed by the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (EACTS) European Heart Journal (2010) 31, 2369–2429 doi:10.1093/eurheartj/ehq278
This is an outstanding, detailed, practical, and easy to understand and apply guideline.
Audio-Digest Internal Medicine Volume 61, Issue 08 February 28, 2014 Atrial Fibrillation, Jan Basile, MD, is an excellent quick review.
2014 AHA/ACC/HRS Guideline for the Management of Patients With Atrial Fibrillation:Executive Summary, J Am Coll Cardiol. 2014;(14):doi:10.1016/j.jacc.2014.03.021, is available as a pdf download at this page. I find this guideline harder to review than the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) above.
The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) Atrial Fibrillation (Update) is scheduled for release this month (June 2014).
