This is an outstanding teaching video from the Oxford Medical School but I would like to note one warning: the spine stabilization with semi-rigid collar and soft rolls and tape is performed as part of primary survey (ABCDEs) in this video. I believe this is done for clarity of teaching purposes. Airway evaluation with spine stabilization is the first step of the primary survey (and spine stabilization must be maintained with an examiner using two hands to stabilize the the c-spine until the c-spine is cleared) . . .
but according to my understanding of the recommendations (of the 9th edition of the Advanced Trauma Life Support Student Course Manual, 2012) application of the semi-rigid collar and rolls and tape should be performed as a part of the secondary survey [after completing the primary survey] (Step 5, Skill X-B: Secondary Survey and Management, p. 172].
