Resources On Ovarian Torsion From FOAMcast, Radiopaedia, And Other Resources

Note to myself: This post is a brief review of ovarian torsion. I reviewed each of the resource links below for a quick refresher on the topic.

In this post I link to and excerpt  from several resources. First is FOAMcast’s Oct 23, 2018 Myths In Imaging And Pediatrics. Here is the link to the podcast.

Here is the link to show notes. Here is where you can find links to all the topics and all of the list of topics by date.

Remember that ovarian torsion, like testicular torsion can be intermittent.

The authors first discuss diagnosis of ovarian torsion by ultrasound [from 1:15 to 2:10]. The sensitivity of ultrasound for the diagnosis of ovarian torsion is only 45 to 75% sensitive, the authors state.

Next, here’s the link to Ovarian Torsion From Radiopaedia. [Go ahead and review it]

And finally here is one of my posts on ovarian torsion to review: Links To And Excerpts From “Ovarian Torsion Myths” And “Ovarian Torsion Imaging” From EMC
