Income inequality and, just as important, asset inequality are two problems that effect the vast majority of persons in the United States and throughout the world.
The existence of both of these problems is explained almost completely by these three articles in the New York Times:
- Tax the Rich and Their Heirs: How to tax inheritances more fairly. By Lily Batchelder. Ms. Batchelder is a professor at New York University School of Law. June 24, 2020
- Why Do the Rich Have So Much Power?: Americans may be equal, but some are more equal than others. By Paul Krugman, Opinion Columnist.
- The Neoliberal Looting of America: The private equity industry, which has led to more than 1.3 million job losses over the last decade, reveals the truth about free markets. By Mehrsa Baradaran. July 2, 2020.
- Ms. Baradaran is the author of “The Color of Money: Black Banks and the Racial Wealth Gap.”
