Life Threatening Causes Of Chest Pain:

The 4 – 2 – 2 Mneumonic

Four Cardiac Causes

Two Pulmonary Causes

    • Pulmonary Embolus
    • Pneumothorax

Two Esophageal Causes

    • Esophageal Rupture
    • Esophageal Impaction

It is really important to know the patient’s past medical history.

The patient had a history of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and he received chemo and radiation to the chest.*
