In visiting Anesthesiology News recently I saw this banner ad looking to hire anesthesiologists for the physician staffing service, Envision Physician Services.
This physician staffing service has significant downsides for patients. It is a venture capital owned employment agency*. Hospitals sign contracts with Envision Physician Services and then Envision goes out and signs up employee physicians as subcontractors. The physician are effectively employees and have no say in the billing practices of Envision.
