You no longer need a doctor’s order to get blood tests. You can order them yourself. And you can do this both online and at some local doctors’ office.
You may save a lot of money on blood tests by ordering your own blood tests and paying cash for them even if you have health insurance.
In the Indianapolis area (Greenwood) the least expensive place I’ve found is at Hector Family Medicine.
Hector Family Medicine is a Direct Patient Care practice which may be able to save you a lot of money if you have high deductible insurance. You joint the practice and pay a small monthly fee and then are eligible for $20 office visits and $5 lab tests.
But you don’t have to be a monthly member to get inexpensive blood tests at their office. Anyone can make an appointment for a blood test at their office and usually pay only $20!
