The supraglottic airway is a critical tool for airway management.
Dr. Weingart of EMCrit has said that the i-gel supraglottic airway is the easiest to use of the SGAs for adults, especially in the hands of practioners with limited experience with SGA insertion.
I have not yet heard of a neonatologist’s or pediatric emergency medicine specialist’s thoughts on the i-gel for pediatric patients.
